The Korea Institute of Materials Science and Engineering (KIMS) has joined hands with Pukyong National University and Busan Metropolitan City to establish a cooperation framework for research and development and industrialization in the field of AI-based marine energy materials.
This collaboration is noteworthy in that it combines Busan's marine industry base, Pukyong National University's marine and fisheries and AI research capabilities, and KIMS's source technology for advanced materials.

KIMS announced on the 10th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pukyong National University and Busan Metropolitan City on the 8th to establish a marine AI materials research center.

Through this agreement, the three institutions have decided to actively pursue joint research and development and industrialization cooperation in the field of marine AI materials.

The core of the agreement is the establishment of a 'Marine AI Materials Research Center'.

KIMS stated that the center will focus on research into marine energy materials using AI technology, with key tasks including the advancement of the local marine industry, the development of carbon-neutral technologies, and the training of specialized personnel.

KIMS is responsible for source technology in advanced materials, Pukyong National University for research capabilities in marine fisheries and AI, and Busan Metropolitan City for marine industry infrastructure and administrative support, forming a division of roles structure.

KIMS stated that this MOU is a collaboration aimed at simultaneously commercializing marine AI materials research and realizing carbon neutrality.He explained it as a power model.

The three institutions announced that they plan to integrate research results into the local marine industry through the operation of the center and also run training programs for related professionals.
