Amid continuing investment in advanced semiconductors driven by expanding demand for AI, ASML recorded revenue and profit exceeding previous guidance in its second-quarter 2026 earnings and raised its annual forecast.

ASML announced on the 16th that it achieved total net sales of 9.326 billion euros, a gross profit margin of 54.0%, and a net profit of 2.918 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026. Earnings per share (EPS) were recorded at 7.59 euros. During the same period, Installed Base Management revenue was recorded at 2.762 billion euros, and sales of new lithography equipment totaled 86 units.

CEO Christophe Fouquet stated, “Driven by higher-than-expected revenue from installed equipment management, both total net sales and gross profit margin exceeded previous guidance.”

He also stated, “Continued investment in AI and technological advancements are driving demand for advanced logic and memory chips, and customers are accelerating plans to expand production capacity.”

ASML reported that order volumes remained strong in the first half of this year.

Based on this, they announced that they are considering increasing the annual production capacity of low NA EUV, currently at about 65 units, by 30% in 2027 and by an additional 30% in 2028.

We are also considering plans to expand DUV immersion equipment by 30% in 2027 and an additional 30% in 2028, up from the current level of about 130 units.

Total net sales for the third quarter were projected to be between 11 billion and 12 billion euros, with a gross profit margin of 55% to 57%.

On an annual basis, the existing forecast was revised upward to total net sales of 43 billion to 45 billion euros and a gross profit margin of 54% to 56%.

ASML announced that it plans to further update its long-term outlook at Capital Markets Day, scheduled for June 10, 2027.
