As data sovereignty emerges as a key factor determining national competitiveness in the era of physical AI, domestic AI solution companies attended a National Assembly forum and raised the need to foster domestic data infrastructure.

Shin Jae-hyuk, CEO of Sky Worldwide (SKAI), announced that he attended the 'Physical AI Frontier Powerhouse New Technology Strategy Forum' held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building on the 8th as a representative of the industry and presented directions for securing data sovereignty and fostering the domestic synthetic data industry.

This forum was co-hosted by Reps. Jeong Dong-young and Choi Hyung-doo of the National Assembly Science, Technology, Information and Communications Committee and Reps. Jeong Jin-wook and Lee Cheol-gyu of the Trade, Industry, Energy, Small and Medium Enterprises Committee, and co-organized by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology Planning and Evaluation (KEIT), the Korea Technology Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA), and the National Information Society Agency (NIPA).

At the event, CEO Shin Jae-hyuk emphasized that physical AI competitiveness is not achieved solely through hardware or software solutions.

The argument is that for robots to perceive their real-world environments and operate autonomously, they must learn data from various real-world situations, and data sovereignty is secured only when this data can be stored, managed, and utilized using domestic technology.

This To this end, it was suggested that a domestic database-based management system and a synthetic data infrastructure for physical AI training should be fostered in parallel.

CEO Shin stated, “Synthetic data is a ‘textbook’ that helps physical AI learn various situations in real-world environments, and a ‘wrong answer notebook’ that complements failure cases.”

SKAI Intelligence, an affiliate of Sky Worldwide, announced that it is establishing a cooperation framework with global industrial robot company ABB Robotics and AI semiconductor company NVIDIA.

Sky Intelligence is the only Korean company among the 13 global official retail partners of NVIDIA, and has signed a Cooperation Framework Agreement with ABB Robotics to promote the demonstration of physical AI technology in the manufacturing sector.

CEO Shin Jae-hyuk stated, “Physical AI is a national strategic industry that requires the organic combination of data, software, semiconductors, and hardware,” adding, “With government support, we can further expand Korea’s position in the physical AI data infrastructure market.”
