Nordic Semiconductor ASA (OSE: NOD, Country Manager for Korea: Choi Soo-chul, www.nordicsemi.com), a specialist in Ultra Low Power (ULP) RF, announced that Dexcom, a leading U.S. company in the blood glucose meter field, has launched the world's first continuous glucose monitoring solution capable of 24/7 remote monitoring by adding Bluetooth Smart (formerly Bluetooth Low Energy) wireless connectivity technology to its existing G4 Platinum CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) portable device using Nordic's μBlue™ nRF8001 single-chip connectivity solution.

This product can securely transmit blood glucose level information from the blood glucose meter through Dexcom’s free app running on all iOS (Android support coming soon) based Bluetooth Smart Ready smartphones.

The Dexcom G4 Platinum CGM system and Share function can read blood glucose levels measured up to every 5 minutes, share the blood glucose information of the diabetic patient with mobile devices of up to 5 designated people to monitor it remotely, and receive alerts anywhere in the world where a mobile network is established.
