WIM Experience Space to Operate and Pre-invitation Event to be Held at Jeju Halla Gymnasium on August 1-2

Wearable robot company WIRobotics is expanding its reach to consumers in Korea, China, and Japan simultaneously through sponsorship of an international volleyball tournament. The plan is to utilize the competition, where athletes from three countries where the company's walking assistance wearable robot WIM is currently being sold will gather in one place, as an opportunity to expand brand awareness.

Wiro Robotics announced on the 20th that it will participate as an official sponsor in the '2026 Korea-China-Japan Women's Volleyball Top Club Super Match Jeju Tournament' to be held at Jeju Halla Gymnasium on August 1-2.

Hosted and organized by KBS N, this international sporting event features women's volleyball teams from Korea, China, and Japan competing in Jeju, with all matches scheduled to be broadcast live on KBS N Sports and Daum KakaoTV.

Wiro Robotics will set up a WIM experience space inside the Jeju Halla Gymnasium during the competition.

We plan to use this as a venue to introduce walking assistance robot technology to general consumers by allowing visitors to wear WIM and walk around.

WIM is a 1.6kg ultra-lightweight wearable robot that detects the user's walking intention and assists walking power. After its domestic launch in 2024, it is currently being sold in China and Japan as well.

Prior to the opening of the competition, a pre-invitation event will also be held for consumers in the Jeju region.

Participants will be provided with the opportunity to experience WIM, along with tickets to watch a volleyball match.

Wiro Robotics explained that this event is the first large-scale offline consumer engagement event to be held in the Jeju region.

Lee Yeon-baek, co-CEO of Wiro Robotics, said, “Korea, China, and Japan are all important markets where WIM is actually being sold,” adding, “We expect to expand our reach to a new customer base that enjoys sports through this competition.”

Meanwhile, Wiro Robotics was founded in 2021 by engineers formerly from Samsung Electronics' robot research institute. As a company, it won the CES Innovation Award from 2024 to 2026 with the WIM series.

In 2025, it unveiled the humanoid robot platform ALLEX, and in 2026, it was selected for the 'Physical AI Fellowship' hosted by NVIDIA and AWS.

In the same year, it also succeeded in attracting Series B investment worth approximately 95 billion won.
