Infineon launches compact solid-state isolator for industrial automation

Infineon Technologies launched the ISSI20BxxF solid-state isolator (SSI) product family on the 12th.
The new product adopts a PG-DSO-8 150 mil package comparable in size to conventional PVI solutions, thereby reducing the burden of transitioning to SSI technology.
Targeted applications include △solid-state relay modules △PLC input/output △industrial automation △laboratory DC power supplies △automated test equipment △low-voltage building automation △telecommunications infrastructure.
The ISSI20BxxF product family is based on Infineon's coreless transformer technology.
The technology simultaneously transmits signals and energy across the isolation barrier, enabling external power switches to be driven without a separate isolated gate power supply, according to the company.
Integrated overcurrent protection, overtemperature protection, fast fault shutdown, and latch-off functionality reduce the burden of designing external protection circuits.
Some products also support dynamic Miller clamp and fast turn-on capabilities.
The new product family comprises three types: ISSI20B02F, ISSI20B03F, and ISSI20B11F.
All three products provide 3kVrms isolation performance, 4mm creepage distance, and UL 1577 certification, making them suitable for applications requiring basic insulation.
Compared to electromechanical relays, the absence of mechanical wear, contact bounce, and arcing enables silent operation and extended service life, the company added.
The three products are currently in supply, with evaluation hardware, application notes, technical training materials, and design support resources also provided.

Samsung Electronics Establishes Domestic Production of EHS Heat Pump Boilers in Gwangju…Annual Production Capacity of 100,000 Units
Samsung Electronics is establishing a domestic production system for EHS heat pump boilers at its Gwangju business site in line with the promotion of heating electrification. The company will begin trial production this month on a dedicated line spanning 2,132㎡ and is scheduled to commence full-scale mass production by the end of September, with annual production capacity exceeding 100,000 units. This product generates approximately 5 times the heat relative to input power, recording a seasonal performance coefficient of 4.9, and offers higher energy efficiency compared to fossil fuel-based boilers while reducing carbon emissions.

The domestic OT security market has seen significantly heightened awareness centered on large enterprises, and POC demand is also increasing.
