On the 14th, Databricks announced that its Q2 annualized run-rate revenue increased over 80% compared to the same period last year, exceeding $7 billion. On the same day, the company completed a $5 billion investment round led by Coatue. New participants in this round include Blackstone, MGX, and Sixth Street Growth, while existing investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Temasek, and Thrive Capital also participated.

 

 

Databricks stated that it plans to utilize the investment funds to strengthen three core products: Lakebase, Genie, and Unity AI Gateway. Lakebase is a serverless PostgreSQL database designed for AI agent development and has already surpassed $100 million in annualized run-rate revenue. Genie is an AI solution that supports task execution based on enterprise data, while Unity AI Gateway manages governance and cost control for various AI models. Lakehouse, the data warehousing product, also achieved over 100% year-over-year growth, surpassing $1.5 billion in annualized run-rate revenue. The company reported that customers spending over $1 million annually have exceeded 1,000, those spending over $10 million have surpassed 100, and adjusted free cash flow has remained positive over the past 12 months.

 

 

Ali Ghodsi, Databricks co-founder and CEO, stated "Enterprises want AI agents that understand the full context of their business, perform actual tasks, and efficiently manage costs," adding "Lakebase, Genie, and Unity AI Gateway provide the foundation to make this possible." Thomas Laffont, Coatue co-founder, noted "Databricks has become a core pillar of AI infrastructure by reducing research and development timelines that previously took years to just months."
