Ecolab and K-water Discuss Innovation Collaboration in Advanced Industry Water Management

This will be implemented by combining Ecolab's field-based water treatment technology and experience with Korea Water Resources Corporation's water resources infrastructure capabilities.
In addition, the two companies agreed to establish a long-term cooperation platform that continuously develops feasible cooperation projects through regular technology and business experience sharing.
President Yoon Seok-dae remarked, "We will develop cooperation models that can contribute to solving global water issues by connecting public water management experience with industrial field technology."
As of 2025, through collaboration with clients, the company saved approximately 927.4 billion liters of water resources annually and contributed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 4.7 million metric tons per year.
In the 2026 CDP evaluation, the company achieved the highest rating of "Leadership A" for the seventh consecutive year in water resources management and for the fifth consecutive year in climate change response.

Ecolab Expands AI Data Center Cooling Business Through Acquisition of CoolIT
Ecolab has agreed to acquire CoolIT Systems, a liquid cooling company for AI data centers, for approximately $4.75 billion. The transaction is expected to close by Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. CoolIT has been supplying direct-to-chip cooling-based coolant distribution units, cold plates, and manifolds, serving hyperscale data centers and colocation operators as customers. This acquisition is a measure to address the high-heat and high-density server environments created by AI proliferation. Ecolab plans to combine its water management and digital monitoring capabilities with CoolIT's hardware technology to expand its data center cooling business.

Ecolab ranked 9th on Fortune's "2025 AIQ 50." This evaluation, introduced by Fortune for the first time, is based on whether companies' AI utilization translates into actual business results. Ecolab was the only chemical company included, which appears to reflect its improvements in industrial water management and operational efficiency based on 3D TRASAR and ECOLAB3D.
