Samsung Electronics Breaks Ground on Flakt Group HVAC Production Line in Gwangju

The event was attended by Noh Tae-moon, President and Representative Director of Samsung Electronics' DX Division, Tobias Ketele, Chief Financial Officer of Flakt Group, Min Hyung-bae, Mayor of South Jeolla Gwangju Metropolitan City, and Ahn Do-geol, Chairman of the South Jeolla Gwangju Metropolitan City Council, among others.
The facility is targeted to commence full-scale operations in early 2028, and will become Flakt Group's 15th global production site.
It is expected to exclusively handle air conditioning demand for AI data centers, advanced manufacturing facilities such as semiconductors and batteries, and large commercial facilities in Korea and East Asia.
Target products include △Coolant Distribution Unit (CDU) △Fan Wall Unit (FWU) △Computer Room Air Handler (CRAH) △Air Handling Unit (AHU) for large buildings, and others.
Samsung Electronics stated that it will establish an integrated HVAC business system linking product development, production, installation, and maintenance to secure customer response capabilities.
Furthermore, the company plans to strengthen safety management from groundbreaking through mass production stabilization and contribute to regional economic revitalization through local talent recruitment and co-growth with partner companies.
