MOXA announced the provision of new V-ON technology capable of preventing video loss in mission-critical networks. Robust surveillance networks are becoming increasingly important for public safety and critical security applications. V-ON stands for “Video-Always-On” network technology. For continuous video stream monitoring, V-ON technology overcomes Layer 2 and Layer 3 multicast issues. This enables the recovery of Layer 2 video loss within 50ms and provides Layer 3 routing redundancy within 300ms.

Millisecond-level video recovery

To achieve continuous video surveillance, MOXA's V-ON network technology maximizes the uptime of IP surveillance networks. By combining MOXA’s patented Turbo Ring/Turbo Chain protocol and V-ON technology to optimize complex video streaming, Layer 2 video recovery is possible within 50ms after a video network failure, and Layer 3 routing recovery is possible within 300ms.

Video-Always-On Solution

V-ON can be rapidly implemented on MOXA’s various types of rugged Ethernet switches with just a simple firmware update. “In practice, V-ON networking can achieve outstanding operational reliability, availability, and efficiency for mission-critical surveillance applications by leveraging V-ON’s optimized connectivity, ruggedness, and management efficiency,” said Ray Su, Product Manager.
