Addressing the performance, lifespan, and safety issues pointed out in previous TLC technology

Micron Crucial SSD, better known by the nickname "Zombie SSD" due to its fast performance and excellent durability, is launching the successor to the BX100.

Micron is a semiconductor company that, together with Intel, directly develops and manufactures NAND flash memory, the core of SSDs. By introducing Micron’s 16nm TLC memory, which is renowned as the best in the world, the company has taken another step toward the popularization of SSDs.

TLC NAND flash memory is a technology advantageous for manufacturing high-capacity SSDs at a lower cost compared to existing MLC technology. Micron has launched its first TLC-based SSD that strikes an optimal balance between performance and price by addressing the performance, lifespan, and stability issues previously criticized in TLC technology.

In particular, it can store 3 bits per cell, so it has the advantage of being 2 to 3 times more efficient than the MLC method, enabling high capacity to be implemented even in smaller products.

It delivers read speeds of up to 540MB/s and write speeds of up to 490MB/s.

The newly released Daewon Micron Crucial BX200 utilizes the Silicon Motion SM2256EN controller to enhance speed and stability. Optimized for gaming environments, it delivers read speeds of up to 540MB/s and write speeds of up to 490MB/s. Based on its superior quality, it guarantees a long MTFF of 1.5 million hours by default and is expected to maintain its reputation as a "Zombie SSD."

The Daewon Micron Crucial BX200 offers a wider range of choices with a total of three capacity options: 240GB, 480GB, and 960GB. Minimizing speed degradation due to capacity changes is another unique strength of the Daewon Micron Crucial BX200. Therefore, even when the capacity is nearly full, it maintains high performance at a stable speed, remaining in the same state as the beginning without any significant performance degradation.

Meanwhile, Daewon CTS, the official Korean distributor of Micron Crucial, announced an event to celebrate the launch of a new lineup of excellent Crucial SSDs and to give back 100% of the love received from consumers. During the event period, customers who purchase the Daewon Micron Crucial BX200 will receive one additional 4GB DDR4 module for the 480GB model and two additional 4GB DDR4 modules for the BX200 960GB model. Additionally, the shopping information site Danawa plans to hold a launch commemorative event.
