LG Electronics Installs Ultra-Large OLED Signage 'OLED Moment' at Two Departure Halls in Passenger Terminal

LG Electronics has installed the world's largest OLED signage at Incheon International Airport, the gateway to Korea, to showcase the overwhelming picture quality of OLED to global customers visiting the country.

LG Electronics has installed two massive OLED signage displays, "OLED Moment," at the east and west sides of the duty-free zone on the third floor of the departure hall at Incheon International Airport's passenger terminal. The ceiling-mounted "OLED Moment" utilizes a total of 280 panels, with 140 55-inch curved OLEDs installed at each location. This structure boasts a magnificent scale, measuring 8 meters in width and 13 meters in height. "OLED Moment" is the world's largest OLED signage display.

LG Electronics installed a large sculpture to provide OLED experience opportunities to approximately 45 million annual visitors, or an average of over 120,000 per day, at Incheon Airport.

LG Electronics collaborated with the world-renowned design firm Wilmotte to install the sculpture. 'OLED Moment' embodies the curve of the eaves of a traditional Korean house. LG Electronics plans to highlight the overwhelming picture quality and perfect black of OLED by showcasing media art such as shooting stars in the night sky and spectacular fireworks.

LG Electronics held a completion ceremony for the 'OLED Moment' at Incheon International Airport on the 19th, attended by LG Electronics B2B Division President Roh Hwan-yong, Incheon International Airport Corporation President Park Wan-soo, and others.

Following its lead in popularizing OLED TVs, LG Electronics plans to actively expand its OLED signage business as well.

Because OLEDs are thin and lightweight, they are easy to mount on walls or hang from ceilings, enabling the realization of various designs. The 55-inch OLED used in the production of 'OLED Moment' is approximately 30% thinner and lighter than an LCD of the same size.

Because OLEDs do not have a backlight and each pixel emits light, they can achieve a completely different level of image quality. OLEDs are excellent for signage viewed by multiple people because they do not suffer from light leakage, ensuring that colors remain undistorted regardless of the viewing angle. Another advantage of OLEDs is that they are thinner than LCDs and can be manufactured into curved shapes.
