Maximum range with low power , providing high RF performance suitable for IoT

TI has added a new device to its SimpleLink™ ultra-low power platform to enable customers to easily add ultra-low power long-distance connectivity to their IoT (Internet of Things) designs.

The new SimpleLink Sub-1GHz CC1310 wireless microcontroller (MCU) is suitable for building and factory automation, alarm and security, smart grid, and wireless sensor network applications, and the battery can be used for up to 20 years.

Designed for ultra-low power long-range applications, the CC1310 wireless MC features ultra-low power wireless, an ^ARM® Cortex® ^- M3 MCU, a sensor controller, low-power mode, 0.6mA sleep current, and an excellent ULPBench™ score of 158, helping to extend battery life.

In addition, with high sensitivity and strong compatibility, it can cover an entire city of over 20 km from buildings using coin cells, and can provide more features while miniaturizing the footprint with a single-chip, flash-based, 4x4mm QFN design for coin cell applications.


TI also provides software options that can be used to suit the needs of developers to simplify development work using SimpleLink CC1310 wireless MCUs. The software currently provided includes point-to-point (P2P) communication examples using EasyLink , a wM-Bus protocol stack using TI RTOS , and a Contiki 6LoWPAN mesh networking stack. In addition, development tools , reference designs , online training , and E2E™ community support are provided to assist developers with their design work. In addition, various flash capacities of 32kB, 64kB, and 128kB are provided to suit the code size of developers.

SimpleLink Sub-1GHz CC1310 wireless MCU-based development kits are currently available for purchase at the TI Store and TI authorized distributors. The CC1310DK , which includes sub-1GHz hardware, software, and an RF development platform, is sold for $299, and the CC1310EMK , which includes two CC1310 evaluation modules, two antennas, and a start guide, is sold for $99.
