Demonstration of the '3C Function Test'
Turn the iPad on and off, check the functionality of the sensitive touch surface, and test the contact of the connectors.


KUKA Robotics Korea Co., Ltd. will participate in the '2015 Creative Economy Expo', which will be held for four days starting today, and will present the intelligent collaborative robot 'LBR iiwa' as a solution for realizing the creative economy.

The LBR iiwa, an intelligent automated robot that merges the real and digital worlds, was developed as part of "Industry 4.0," the theme of this exhibition and a growth strategy for Germany's manufacturing industry. The LBR iiwa's cyber-physical production system enables the realization of future smart factories where manufactured products and robots communicate with each other. Furthermore, by enabling collaboration with humans, the robot can further enhance productivity and competitiveness, potentially serving as a catalyst for Korea's creative economy.

This exhibition showcases a demonstration of the "3C Function Test." Using KUKA's Human Machine Interface (HMI), an iPad can be turned on and off, the functionality of the touch-sensitive surface can be checked, and connector contact can be tested. Additionally, we will demonstrate representative functions of human-intelligent collaborative robots, such as gear assembly and USB connection, which were not possible in existing robot automation processes.

The '2015 Creative Economy Expo' will be held from the 26th to the 29th.

The exhibition hall also features robots pouring drinks, and visitors can participate in activities like drawing alongside the robots. This allows visitors to witness the robots' "teaching by demonstration" function, which perfectly recognizes and replicates human gestures and hand movements, and provides a glimpse into the future of smart factories where robots and humans collaborate.

In addition, a demonstration cell will be on display where visitors can see the various functions and fast working speed of KUKA's small multi-joint robot, "KR AGILUS," which became a hot topic after its table tennis match with German table tennis star Timo Boll.

Hosted by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning to revitalize the creative economy, the "2015 Creative Economy Expo" will be held for four days from the 26th to the 29th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. KUKA's robots can be seen in Hall D06 of the COEX exhibition hall.
