Various OLED sculptures to be unveiled in conjunction with the Namsan Seoul Tower renovation at the end of next month

LG Electronics partners with LG Display to illuminate Seoul’s landmark, Namsan Seoul Tower, with OLEDs featuring overwhelming picture quality and innovative design.

LG Electronics and LG Display plan to unveil various OLED sculptures using OLED panels at Namsan Seoul Tower, which will be newly revealed at the end of next month following the completion of renovations.

LG Electronics and LG Display will utilize 250 55-inch OLED panels. The sculptures are expected to showcase not only overwhelming picture quality but also the unrivaled advantages of OLED, such as diverse shapes and light weight.

The 9-meter-long OLED tunnel to be installed on the first floor of Namsan Seoul Tower demonstrates new possibilities for media art. Additionally, cylindrical OLEDs connected in a circular fashion along the ceiling and a wave-shaped OLED media wall made by connecting curved panels along the ceiling create dynamic visuals.

LG Electronics and LG Display plan to showcase the overwhelming picture quality of OLED and provide a unique spectacle by screening various artistic content on the OLED sculpture at Namsan Seoul Tower.

Because OLEDs emit light on their own without a backlight, they can accurately reproduce colors, delivering picture quality closest to natural colors. Additionally, there is no color distortion regardless of the viewing angle. The ability to create various design forms and the lightweight nature that enables signage implementation are also unique advantages of OLED.
