ams announced that D-Link has equipped its new camera-equipped Komfy™ Switch with ams’ indoor air pollution measurement module (product name: iAQ-core).

iAQ-core is an ultra-compact, low-power gas sensor module that measures indoor air pollution levels with high accuracy.

This module utilizes MEMS-based volatile organic compound (VOC) sensor components to respond to ambient changes in pollutants commonly found in indoor environments, providing TVOC measurements in ppb (parts per billion) and CO2 measurements in ppm via an I2C interface.

D-Link's camera-equipped Comfiswitch performs more than just a smart light switch. Equipped with a 16-foot night vision Full HD 1080P resolution camera and an environment sensor, users can conveniently know what is happening in their home.

Built-in sensors provide useful information, including motion, sound, temperature, power consumption, air pollution levels, and humidity detection.

The Comfy mobile app and free cloud service provide the ability to view, control, and manage Comfy solutions from anywhere via smartphone or tablet.


iAQ-core accurately measures a wide range of reducing gas concentrations associated with indoor air pollution, such as alcohols, aldehydes, ketones, organic acids, and amines, as well as aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons that can be harmful to humans and animals when at high levels.

These VOCs provide a more useful measurement of indoor air pollution levels than carbon dioxide sensors, which are currently commonly used in indoor air quality monitoring. This is because CO2 concentration is significantly affected by gases released when humans and animals breathe.

The iAQ-core indoor air pollution measurement module is currently available in mass production quantities. The price is $24.70 per unit based on a quantity of 1,000.
