ATEN Korea announced the launch of the 4th generation KVM over IP switch KN8 series, which can significantly increase the productivity of IT operations by achieving twice the virtual media transmission speed compared to competing products.

The newly released products consist of three models: KN4164V, KN8164V, and KN8132V. These are next-generation KVM over IP switches improved to meet customer demands that were insufficient with existing KVM over IP, driven by the rapid advancement of video technology and the steep increase in data processing. All three products are characterized by providing superior video quality, robust security, and virtual media transmission speeds beyond imagination.

The KN8 series, which supports virtual media transmission speeds twice as fast as its competitors, can increase work efficiency by minimizing user waiting times when applied to various fields such as banking, finance, broadcasting, post-production recording, and production. In particular, its effectiveness is expected to be maximized in tasks such as software patching.

Server UI can be implemented with a high resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 through local and remote consoles. Thanks to this, video performance becomes seamless and smooth, and can be expressed more clearly and vividly without blurring or an artificial feel from low-quality graphics. This is expected to be highly useful for audiovisual-oriented applications in the fields of broadcasting and video editing.

The KN8 series, featuring significantly enhanced security, supports the U.S. federal information security standard FIPS 140-2 to facilitate secure remote authentication and access. It further protects data and user information with the latest encryption features, including 56-bit DES, 168-bit 3DES, 256-bit AES, and 128-bit RC4. These proven data protection and information security capabilities make it ideal for banks and financial institutions that must respond with heightened sensitivity to security issues.

ATEN explained that the KN8 series also offers high convenience by utilizing ATENKVM management software CC2000 & CCVSR and a mobile app to easily manage multiple KN8 series solutions and enable perfect monitoring and integrated control.

Administrators can remotely monitor and control all devices within the network, such as high-density servers, virtual machines, and PDUs, through the KN8 series and CC2000 management software. In addition, you can control the server in real time using an iPad anytime, anywhere through the PadClient app, which allows you to easily connect KVM over IP devices with an intuitive interface.

When the CCVSR video session recorder is matched with the ATEN KN8 series, operations executed through the KVM over IP switch can be automatically recorded for all servers or selected servers, allowing for convenient monitoring. Since every operation process—from BIOS-level settings and system login to software application execution and operating system configuration—is recorded and saved without exception, safe and systematic monitoring is possible.
