Preemptively targeting the domestic market by launching three months earlier than last year

LG Electronics will launch the 'K10,' an entry-level smartphone with a premium design, through the three major mobile carriers on the 14th. The 'K10' is the first product to be released in Korea from the 'K Series,' an entry-level lineup unveiled at 'CES 2016.'

LG Electronics is preemptively targeting the domestic market by launching its budget smartphone three months earlier than last year. LG Electronics previously released its first budget product of 2015, the 'LG Volt,' in April.

LG Electronics stated that the 'K10' is characterized by adopting a premium smartphone design tailored to the sensibilities of young consumers who express their own style, and explained that the product features a glamorous yet modern design inspired by pebbles. Furthermore, the company reported that the 'K10' is composed of '2.5D Arc Glass,' which rounds the edges of the LCD display—including both sides and the top and bottom—to enhance the sense of depth, and is finished with a metallic-looking bezel to achieve a sleek and stylish curved design.

LG Electronics also stated that it provides a differentiated experience with the 'Quick Cover View' case exclusively for the 'K10'. The 'Quick Cover View' case features a touch-sensitive transparent material on the right side of the front cover, allowing users to control incoming calls and alarms, as well as check messages, dates, and times, by touching the side without opening the case.

The 'K10' is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It features the signature 'G series' UX specialized for selfies, such as 'Gesture Shot', 'Gesture Interval Shot', and 'Flash for Selfie', enabling consumers to easily take photos for social media.

The 'K10' adopts a 5.3-inch display using the 'In-cell Touch' method, which is typically applied to premium smartphones. 'In-cell Touch' is a technology that integrates the touch sensor with the LCD to create a thinner and lighter display, providing a clear screen and fast touch response speed.

LG Electronics MC Business Division President Cho Jun-ho emphasized, “The K10 is a product that allows users to experience premium design and performance at a reasonable price,” adding, “We will enhance our competitiveness in the budget smartphone market with products that reflect the diverse needs of consumers.”
