Panasonic Launches 4K+ Laser Projector
Published2016.01.11 15:22Panasonic Korea announced on the 11th that it has launched the Panasonic 'PT-RQ13K' projector, the world's smallest and lightest 4K+ Ultra HD projector. The Panasonic 'PT-RQ13K' is a 3-Chip DLP projector equipped with a 'Quad Pixel Drive' that renders film-like fine 5120 x 3200 images, enabling optimal 4K+ video in any environment.
Panasonic stated that the 'PT-RQ13K' creates ultra-high resolution that surpasses standard Ultra HD by shifting pixels horizontally and vertically using 'Pixel Quadruplementing Technology,' and also announced that it is equipped with Panasonic's newly developed 'Real Motion Processor' to generate high-speed 240Hz frames, supporting smooth and natural 4K+ video of fast movements up to 5120 x 3200 pixels (16:10).
Up to 20,000 hours of continuous use at maximum output
According to Panasonic, the 'SOLID SHINE' laser technology is equipped with various functions for the stable operation of the project, achieving a stable brightness of 10,000 lm, and the dynamic contrast maintains the contrast ratio even after long-term use, allowing for constant brightness to be maintained for up to 10 years. In addition, it was reported that the 'Dual Drive Laser Optical Engine' enables stable operation, as the decrease in brightness is significantly smaller even after using it for a maximum of 20,000 hours, unlike conventional bulb-type lights which lose function when their brightness lifespan is exhausted.
In addition, it allows for flexible installation while maintaining the compactness of the smallest and lightest 4K product. Powerful 'lens shift' and 360-degree multi-axis rotation mounting can save costs and time during permanent or temporary installations. In particular, the 'lens shift,' which allows for installation at any angle, enables high-quality video output regardless of the installation location or method.
In addition, durability has been enhanced through a cooling system and dustproof design. The water-based cooling system operates at a low noise level of 46dB even at 45 degrees Celsius using a high-rigidity aluminum heatsink, while the long-life Eco filter and newly designed intake system maintain optimal image quality even in dusty environments, making it economical in terms of saving on replacement cycles, maintenance costs, and time. The lens for the Panasonic 'PT-RQ13K' projector is sold separately and is available in black.
