Keysight Launches 'X Series Signal Analyzer' Tailored for Aerospace and Defense Industries

Keysight announced on the 3rd that it has launched a new X Series signal analyzer capable of measuring wireless communications in the aerospace and defense industries. A press conference was held in Gwanghwamun on the 26th, where Keysight Asia Business Development Manager Shin Seung-cheol presented the product.
Ahead of the product launch, Keysight Korea President Yoon Deok-kwon stated, “A notable feature of this X Series is the external change achieved by applying ‘Charcoal Gray’ to the instrument, unlike previous measuring instruments,” adding, “The modern Charcoal Gray design reflects our efforts to demonstrate high reliability and performance.”
Keysight stated that the X Series signal analyzers (model names: UXA, PXA, MXA, EXA, CXA) have three features, citing multi-touch capabilities, a 1 GHz analysis bandwidth, and real-time analysis. They explained that this will provide a useful development environment for developers by enabling precise analysis of high-frequency and wide-bandwidth signals required by the aerospace and defense industries.
In particular, the multi-touch function enabled measurement with two or fewer touches, and also optimized the user interface (UI) with motion-based actions such as zoom in and out, dragging, and swiping.
It was announced that among the X series, the UXA provides 44GHz and 50GHz frequencies tailored for the aerospace and defense industries and supports a 1GHz analysis bandwidth. The PXA also offers a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of over 75dBc, along with real-time bandwidths of 501MHz and 510MHz.
It also supports real-time data streaming to characterize signal interactions in high-density radar environments. The UXA and PXA are capable of real-time data streaming with a maximum bandwidth of 255 MHz at 300 MSa/s and 16-bit resolution. It was also announced that it supports up to 15TB of memory capture by connecting to a data logging device from solution partner X-COM Systems.
In addition, complex operations have been simplified using measurement functions already proven in pulse analysis, analog demodulation, noise figures, phase noise, LTE/LTE-A, and W-CDMA fields.
Keysight President Yoon Deok-kwon stated, “We reorganized the organization from a product-centric ‘Product division’ into a Solutions Group to provide developers with a better development environment,” adding, “We will be able to offer customers high efficiency relative to cost.”

European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. The presence of major domestic cities such as Seoul, Suwon, and Yongin was also confirmed. It was also revealed that Korea's European patent strategy is expanding beyond individual technologies to span the entire industry.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert

ETRI Develops 200Gbps Photodetector… Initiates Localization of Optical Receivers for AI Data Centers
The Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) has developed a photodetector device that processes optical signals of approximately 200Gbps per channel for the first time in Korea. This device is a component that converts optical signals into electrical signals and determines the reception performance of AI data centers and 5G/6G communication networks. ETRI achieved bandwidth of 70GHz or higher and optical responsivity of 0.75A/W or higher, and integrated an indium phosphide lens on the rear of the chip to enhance optical reception efficiency and alignment convenience. The technology was presented at OECC 2025 and was recently published in the international academic journal 'Optics Express'.
