Telit and Jeju National University Sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at Jeju National University's Ara Campus to Foster IoT Specialists

Telit (www.telit.com), a company specializing in IoT (Internet of Things) modules and platform services, announced today that it signed a business cooperation agreement with Jeju National University on the 16th to foster IoT professionals and enhance competitiveness in the global market.

Telit exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for business cooperation yesterday afternoon at the Jeju National University Ara Campus in Jeju City, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province. The event was attended by key officials from both organizations, including Jeju National University President Heo Hyang-jin, LINC Director Lee Sang-baek, and Entrepreneurship Education Center Director Professor Kang Cheol-woong, as well as Telit Korea Sales Director Kim Hee-cheol and Asia Pacific Marketing Director Lee Kyung-jun. The two organizations agreed to cooperate on: promoting smooth industry-academia collaboration in the IoT field; operating educational programs to foster IoT professionals; jointly identifying business models in the IoT sector; establishing a collaborative R&D framework for IoT-based platforms and devices; and building a global industry-academia cooperation model for joint research and business.

Following the signing of this technology cooperation MOU, both organizations plan to maintain a broad cooperative relationship, including fostering IoT specialists, exchanging and sharing information on the latest communication technologies attracting global attention, and jointly developing innovative IoT technologies. To this end, Telit plans to focus on fostering core IoT talent by conducting various annual industry-academia collaboration programs, such as IoT education programs that support students from idea development to production, lectures and consulting services, competitive presentations, and mentor-mentee programs with engineers, as well as through specialized professional education programs and joint R&D projects.

Kim Hee-cheol, Managing Director of Sales for Telit Korea, said, “Through the industry-academia collaboration between Telit and Jeju National University, active research and collaboration will be conducted in areas of common interest, such as IoT hardware and software.” He added, “We plan to do our best together with Jeju National University to foster future IoT talent through close and continuous cooperation with the Telit R&D Center, and based on successful exchange cases with Jeju National University, we plan to develop continuous university cooperation programs and expand the scope of support in the future.”

Jeju National University, which is committed to fostering high-level ICT talent with global competitiveness, has solidified its position as an institution for cultivating IoT talent through cooperation with Telit. Telit plans to support Jeju National University with necessary infrastructure, educational content, and specialized personnel to facilitate collaborative work, thereby creating a smooth industry-academia collaboration environment for undergraduate and graduate students and improving the development environment. Furthermore, they plan to jointly identify IoT business models by participating in corporate support programs, such as providing training for employees at Jeju National University's affiliated companies.
