Samsung Electronics Strengthens Mobile Solutions Partnership with Oracle

Samsung Electronics announced on the 19th that it is strengthening cooperation with Oracle to provide enterprise solutions capable of building cloud-based modern business environments. Samsung Electronics and Oracle plan to work closely with System Integrator service providers to support enterprises in modernizing and improving IT infrastructure on a mobile and cloud basis while maintaining their currently used systems.
Samsung Electronics and Oracle have been releasing the 'Apache Cordova plug-in', a tool that allows enterprise solution developers to conveniently develop mobile applications, and providing sample code.
The system integration (SI) service provider 'Auraplayer' was able to rapidly develop optimized solutions for corporate customers such as the New York City 'Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA)' and 'Jubilee Life Insurance' by utilizing this. 'Auraplayer' is a partner in Samsung Electronics' enterprise solution partnership program SEAP (Samsung Enterprise Alliance Program) and an Oracle SI service partner company.
Support for Next-Generation Smartphone Application Development
Kim Young-dae, Executive Director of Samsung Electronics' Mobile Business Division, said, "Samsung Electronics will cooperate with Oracle to support developers and solution companies in more conveniently developing next-generation smartphone applications and services."
Sri Ramanathan, Executive at Oracle, stated, "By combining Oracle's mobile cloud services with Samsung Electronics' innovative capabilities, we will further strengthen and simplify enterprise mobile services."
Mia Urman, CEO of Auraplayer, said, "With the support of Samsung Electronics and Oracle, we were able to create an integrated mobile solution for customers in just a few weeks."
Samsung Electronics and Oracle are collaborating with various system integration (SI) service providers to develop innovative enterprise solutions.
Among them, 'HCL Technology', 'Sofbang', and 'L&T Infotech' plan to showcase solutions developed in cooperation with both companies at the Mobile World Congress 2016 to be held in Barcelona.
Samsung Electronics plans to expand support for the Oracle Mobile Application Framework, Oracle JavaScript Extension Toolkit developers, and the 'Apache Cordova' developer community.
Samsung Electronics' first 'Cordova plug-in' was launched in October last year, and Samsung Electronics and Oracle are jointly developing improved Cordova plug-ins and sample code applicable to Oracle Mobile Cloud Services, with plans to supply these to developers in the future.
