'Let's Go,' a futuristic performance combining drawing performance and holographic direction, launches on the 11th

KT will begin the official run of the hologram drawing show 'Let's Go!' at Dongdaemun K-live, the world's first dedicated hologram theater, starting on the 11th.

K-Live is the world's first dedicated K-pop hologram theater that provides photorealistic realism through high-resolution holographic media production. It surpassed 200,000 cumulative visitors last January (with foreigners accounting for about 45%), writing a new history for Hallyu content, and is actively expanding into domestic and international markets, including Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore and Triple Street in Songdo.

"Let's Go," a hologram drawing show jointly planned and produced by KT and Korea's top "drawing show" production company Drawing Show Co., Ltd., is an art show that can be enjoyed by both domestic and foreign audiences. It depicts episodes that unfold while exploring Korea, China, Greenland, and other places with a theme of a world tour, all presented with the unique comedic sensibility of non-verbal performance.

Using K-live's massive media stage as a canvas, they paint a watercolor picture right in front of the audience with free-flowing brushstrokes, beautiful colors, and lifelike holographic images. In addition, three performers actually appear and lead the audience into an unknown world through a dramatic performance where holographic images and reality are intermingled.

In particular, it provides opportunities for the audience to directly participate in the performance through motion sensing, sound visualization, and real-time telepresence technologies. It offers a special experience by reflecting audience engagement in real-time based on movement and cheering decibels, and by summoning audience members onto the stage using telepresence technology.

In addition, various spatial effects, such as a 270-degree view media facade surrounding the performance hall, a 14.2-channel surround sound system, spectacular three-dimensional lighting and lasers, and special effects like fog and bubbles, provide the audience with an immersive experience as if they were inside the story.

The performance takes place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:15 PM for approximately 60 minutes at K-live, a dedicated hologram theater on the 9th floor of Lotte FitIn at Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station on Subway Line 5. Admission is 50,000 won and tickets can be reserved through Interpark; Olleh Membership users and those paying on-site with a BC Card are eligible for a 50% discount. Other K-pop hologram concerts, including those by Big Bang, Psy, and G-Dragon, will operate as before.

Lee Mi-yeon, Senior Vice President of KT’s Future Convergence Business Promotion Office, said, “We enhanced audience immersion by incorporating digital elements such as holographic video, 3D video, and audience interaction into existing performance shows,” adding, “We plan to diversify the genres of application, such as holographic children’s musicals, through cooperation across various fields in the future.”

Meanwhile, in addition to the Let's Go performance, KT is holding an exhibition of artworks utilizing optical holographic methods in collaboration with the Hologram Forum (Chairman Lee Seung-hyun) at the gallery located on the 10th floor of K-live.

This exhibition features a total of approximately 20 works, including holographic pieces created between the 1980s and 2015 by world-renowned French holographic artist Yves Gentet and Russia's Michel Shevtsov, as well as works by Korean artists Han Gyo IC and Byun Jae-eon. The works, which depict cultural heritage, portraits, and masterpiece oil paintings, appear so identical to the originals that it is difficult to distinguish them with the naked eye, offering viewers a new sense of emotion and enjoyment.

KT began operating K-live in January 2014, centering on hologram performances by K-pop singers such as Psy, Big Bang, 2NE1, and G-Dragon, and is developing content in various fields, including the educational performance 'Museum of the Human Body' for elementary, middle, and high school students. In addition to hologram performances, it is pioneering South Korea's virtual experience market by attracting attention with special exhibitions and experiential attractions.
