Hardware decoding technology reduces CPU usage by 75%, and allows for smooth playback of multiple 4K (UHD) CCTV images.

Milestone Systems, a leader in open platform CCTV integrated control (VMS), has released a new version of its open platform solution, 'Xprotex 2016'.

In collaboration with Intel, QuickConnect video decoding technology was introduced. This technology reduces PC system usage by up to 75% for client software, SmartClient and SmartWall. Video rendering capabilities have been dramatically improved, enabling the operation of the latest 4K/UHD cameras.

Full HD video (1920x1080 pixels, 30 frames per second) can be transmitted seamlessly from 25 cameras to a client PC simultaneously. Previously, high-performance, expensive PC servers were required for multi-monitoring high-definition video, but this technology allows for operation with less expensive PCs, significantly reducing hardware costs. Moving cameras between multiple recording servers has also become easier.

Upgraded event control, with over 5,000 cameras worldwide

SmartWall functionality has been significantly enhanced to enhance security operations. Content such as images, favorites, and maps have been improved, and a new push notification feature automatically sends text messages to remote smartphone users when camera alarms occur. This allows the footage to be shared anytime, anywhere, improving situational awareness. We've achieved a remarkable feat, with over 5,000 models available, each with unique and distinctive features and models from camera manufacturers. By releasing camera device packs every other month, you can quickly benefit from the diverse features and performance offered by camera manufacturers.

Milestone VMS's federated structure allows for federated integration without additional licensing fees after establishing a local government integrated control center. It also offers new features that enhance ease of operation and convenience.

Milestone Korea CEO Seung-Je Yoon said, “Milestone Systems has achieved remarkable growth every year since the establishment of its Korean branch, achieving 45% growth last year compared to the previous year.” He added, “This growth is even more meaningful because it was achieved solely with VMS software, without any other hardware software. We have seen an increase in adoption by major organizations, including Incheon International Airport, and local government integrated control IDC center companies.”
