Four solutions that only OLED can implement: flexible, transparent shelf type, mirror type, and modular type

LG Display will be participating in the 'Light + Building 2016' held in Frankfurt, Germany from March 13 to 18 (local time) to showcase future OLED lighting products and technology.

LG Display plans to showcase various future products that OLED lighting will bring with it the design freedom that only OLED can provide and high-quality, premium lighting that is close to natural light.

In particular, LG Display will showcase a new world of lighting that only OLED can realize as a new concept light source and differentiated product technology with a variety of OLED lighting implemented in four solutions: flexible, transparent shelf type, mirror type, and modular type.

Flexible OLED lighting can be curved, expanding the possibilities of interior design using lighting. It is also thin and light, allowing for a variety of design possibilities.

Transparent shelf-type OLED lighting is a technology that only OLED lighting can implement, which utilizes transparent electrodes to create a light source that appears to float on a glass shelf. In particular, mirror-type OLED lighting has the advantage of maintaining the thickness of the mirror as it is, unlike other lighting that has the disadvantage of making the mirror too thick, and implementing thin, glare-free lighting.

OLDE lighting is environmentally friendly with low power consumption and heat generation.
Close to natural light, minimizing eye fatigue

Modular OLED lighting is a product that makes full use of the unique thinness and lightness of OLED, making it easy to install and assemble, and allowing the lights to be combined together, thereby infinitely expanding the usability of lighting.

LG Display’s OLED Lighting Business Unit Managing Director Park Sung-soo said, “OLED lighting is environmentally friendly as it consumes less power and generates less heat, and it is premium lighting that minimizes eye fatigue as it is close to natural light.” He added, “We will expand the application areas of OLED lighting with new concept products such as flexible panels so that more customers can experience the innovative future that only OLED lighting can bring.”
