ROHM Displays Eco-friendly, High-efficiency Silicon Carbide

A conference where you can see and experience the future of the automation industry firsthand has been held. 'Automation World 2016' is an exhibition where you can check out key automation components such as PLCs, industrial computers, drives, and sensors, and it will be held from March 9 to 11 at Halls A and B of COEX in Samseong-dong.

This event, co-hosted by COEX Co., Ltd., Cheomdan, EO Culture Co., Ltd., and the Korea Machine Vision Industry Association, was held simultaneously with the 27th International Factory Automation Exhibition (aimex), the 5th Korea Vision Show, and the 2nd Smart Factory.

ROHM is a company that manufactures semiconductors and electronic components, and is participating in 'Automation World 2016' to exhibit state-of-the-art devices used in large industrial equipment and automobiles.

Among them, SiC devices utilizing silicon carbide are currently receiving significant attention as devices that achieve high efficiency and high voltage resistance, replacing commonly used silicon devices. It is a SiC module that incorporates two discrete semiconductor components: a SiC Schottky barrier diode and a MOSFET.

According to a ROHM official, using this product can miniaturize large devices in automobiles or industrial equipment and contribute to environmental issues in an eco-friendly way through increased efficiency.
