WaveRunner 8000, efficient toolbox usage and faster measurements

Teledyne LeCroy (Country Manager Woon-jae Lee) announced the WaveRunner 8000, a 500MHz to 4GHz oscilloscope with a built-in toolbox for the rapid resolution of debug problems.

The WaveRunner 8000 delivers incredibly powerful capabilities by incorporating the widest range of professional tools available. It marks the beginning of the next-generation MAUI advanced user interface and elevates the value of premier UI in the oscilloscope industry. By adding one-touch functionality to the MAUI interface, users can easily set up necessary measurements, enabling the rapid analysis of abnormal behavior in complex signals.

Powerful debugging tool

The standard computation, measurement, debug, and documentation tools alone provide analysis capabilities unmatched by other products. Dedicated analysis packages for specific applications enable efficient debugging for general design and certification scenarios. Digital filtering, spectrum analysis, and device and switching power supply analysis functions are available as options. It is also possible to perform computations that allow users to define their own parameters and analyses to execute custom measurements or an infinite number of analyses. WaveRunner 8000 has a very rich set of tools and guarantees the rapid resolution of the most complex debugging tasks.

WaveRunner 8000 and OneTouch MAUI continue Teledyne LeCroy's long-standing innovation in user interfaces. OneTouch MAUI enhances convenience and efficiency by enabling all common functions to be handled with just a single touch of the screen.

OneTouch MAUI allows you to set up and copy channels, operations, and parameter measurements using only drag-and-drop gestures, and perform most operations without lifting your finger from the screen. You can intuitively operate the oscilloscope with common gestures such as dragging, dropping, pinching, and lightly tapping the screen.

You can quickly add new channels, operations, or measurements using the “Add New” button, and drag waveforms and parameters directly from the screen by lightly tapping with your finger. One-touch MAUI features special touchscreen gesture recognition capabilities that simplify measurement setup, allowing you to operate the oscilloscope intuitively and effectively.

Teledyne LeCroy provides a wide range of optional software packages for the WaveRunner 8000 that enable all serial data testing, from automation standard compliance packages to flexible debugging toolkits. The protocol-specific measurement parameter and eye diagram package provides unrivaled insights into identifying serial data anomalies.

The “M” model with the highest sample rate and memory

These special packages extract necessary data from decode results to visualize changes over time in graphs, and provide eye diagrams to check timing measurements and whether standard or user-specified masks are violated, thereby perfectly complementing the industry's most powerful trigger/decode software.

The MS model has 16 digital input terminals and can be used for triggering, decoding, and timing measurement for general purposes in digital design or for analyzing timing anomalies. By utilizing digital channels, physical layer issues can be identified in the remaining analog channels, allowing for efficient channel usage.

The WaveRunner 8000M model, offering the industry's highest sampling rate of 40 GS/s, allows for detailed observation of edges with the fastest rise times contained in a signal. Additionally, it features long memory to maintain the maximum sampling rate over longer time bases. The “M” models, equipped with 128-Mpt memory, are ideal for debugging long-term behavior occurring on high-speed serial data buses.
