Snap Sensors Remains in Switzerland, Accelerating Team Growth Following ADI's New R&D Center

Analog Devices, Inc. (ADI) announced the acquisition of SNAP Sensor SA, a privately held, Swiss-based company specializing in highly innovative vision sensing technology.

The acquisition is expected to further strengthen Analog Devices' leadership in sensing and signal processing and enable the deployment of platform-level Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, including ADI's award-winning Blackfin Low Power Imaging Platform (BLiP).

Snap Sensor's patented technology significantly improves the performance of conventional optical sensors by enabling accurate image detection even under poor lighting conditions. This significantly enhances sensing reliability and accuracy across a range of sensing, identification, and guidance applications. Additionally, since most of the image management is done on the sensor, it allows for the use of much cheaper, lower-power processors.

The Snap Sensor team will remain in Switzerland, establish a new Analog Devices R&D center and continue close collaboration with the Swiss research and technology organization CSEM (http://www.csem.ch).
