Product updates and performance improvements based on customer feedback

Autodesk has released its 2017 software solutions, featuring new and improved features that support improvements to the construction environment through the Building Information Modeling (BIM) process.

Autodesk's Revit, InfraWorks 360, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Navisworks 2017, and Autodesk Structural Fabrication Suite have been updated or enhanced to help you design and build buildings and infrastructure faster.

These strategic product lines offer enhanced software and cloud-enhanced services to meet the growing global demand for BIM. This helps companies that have already adopted BIM maintain their competitive edge, while also facilitating a smooth transition for those seeking to adopt it.



The enhanced features in Revit 2017 are designed to streamline processes across an expanded range of BIM workflows. New and improved features enhance software performance and help users implement and communicate their design intent.

New core enhancements include over 100 features including multi-threaded execution, which results in up to 20% faster software performance, View Refresh and User Navigation functions that are 4.5x faster than before, and a Draw Visible Element option that only implements the visible elements of a view and does not create hidden elements.

Additionally, Global Parameters allow users to understand the relationships between building elements and use parameters to manipulate size and value across the project, helping to instill and capture design intent within the model. With Revit 2017, designers can incorporate a high level of detail into downstream fabrication and construction.

InfraWorks 360 offers enhanced interoperability features, including the ability to import roundabout design models, and is also available in Civil 3D. Bridge designs can be easily imported into Revit for more detailed design work.

Additionally, design data can be viewed anywhere, including InfraWorks 360, Civil 3D, and Revit. New multi-modal transportation simulation capabilities analyze and integrate integrated geometric models to help city and transportation planners study the impacts of urban infrastructure designs, including buses, trains, parking, taxis, shared rides, autonomous vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, and other personal mobility modes.

AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017 streamlines legacy workflows with new and improved features, centralizes design and drawing standards management, and integrates with Autodesk InfraWorks 360.

Users can now leverage roundabout functionality available in Autodesk Vehicle Tracking software and design roundabout objects from within Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D. New features improve existing workflows, streamlining drawing style management, enabling teams to work together more effectively and adhere to documentation standards.

Autodesk announced the introduction of the "connected desktop" concept into NavisWorks in 2015. NavisWorks 2017 continues to enhance this integrated workflow with BIM 360, supporting construction collaboration in the cloud.

Additionally, the product interoperates with BIM 360 Glue, providing project teams with a more complete and connected solution for BIM project collaboration and coordination. Connected Solutions empowers construction project teams to collaborate easily and seamlessly with BIM 360 Glue, along with the connectivity and powerful features of NavisWorks.

Project teams can integrate workflows between desktop and cloud using the BIM 360 Shared View feature. Shared Views can be linked to BIM 360 and used within workflows such as clash and coordination reviews.

To ensure you have the most up-to-date versions of your design models and to enable you to review and analyze data in those software, we've updated our read, export, and integration capabilities for Autodesk 3DS Max 2017, AutoCAD 2017, AutoCAD Civil 3D 2017, and Revit 2017. As part of this integrated workflow, NavisWorks also supports integration with Autodesk Vault 2017 and Autodesk Recap 2017.
