Various forms of services depending on the business environment

KT held a press conference at KT Square in Gwanghwamun, Sejong-daero, Seoul on the 26th and announced that it is officially launching its 'Enterprise LTE' service.

Enterprise LTE is a concept that leverages the nationwide LTE network to provide wireless services similar to dedicated lines, tailored to each company's specific environment. Its most significant feature is the ability to enjoy enhanced security by accessing the internal corporate network through a dedicated enterprise gateway, creating an environment completely isolated from the general wireless internet. Furthermore, in an Enterprise LTE environment, blocking access to applications such as websites, voice recorders, and cameras can be easily managed.

In addition, unlike existing in-house wireless networks built using WiFi, TRS, or Wibro, enterprise-dedicated LTE allows for use at LTE speeds within the company, providing a mobile network environment up to 50 times faster. Furthermore, if in-house wireless network coverage is provided primarily around the user's workplace, it can be used anywhere in the country.



This enables companies to reduce the costs of building and operating mobile offices. Since it is based on commercial LTE established as a nationwide network, there is almost no burden of initial investment or maintenance costs, and continuous speed upgrades are possible without separate investment. Furthermore, as business tasks can be safely performed on personal smartphones, the need for operating corporate terminals is reduced.

Employees can switch between 'work mode,' which allows access to the internal network, and 'personal mode,' which allows them to freely use their personal phones, by turning the company-exclusive LTE application ON and OFF. Previously, data usage for work and personal use were not separated, making it difficult for both the company and the employees to be satisfied with communication cost support. However, through this, the company only bears the cost of data used for work, and employees can also make reasonable consumption tailored to their personal communication usage patterns, separate from company business.

Enterprise-dedicated LTE can be implemented in various forms, such as Zone, Nationwide, Specified Customer, and General Customer types, depending on the business environment. The 'Zone type' is suitable for research institutes, large-scale industrial complexes, and factories requiring strong security policies, while the 'Nationwide type' is specialized for mobile sectors such as police, fire departments, sales teams, and insurance companies. The 'Specified Customer type' is suitable for university campuses and apartment complexes. The 'General Customer type' is expected to be used in places like subways, airports, and theme parks.
