LG Electronics “1 Billion Color LG Ultra HD Monitor, Picture Quality Technology Recognized”

LG Electronics’ recently released Ultra HD monitor (model name: 27UD88) has been recognized for its vivid picture quality rendered with 1 billion colors.

Leading global certification bodies, including Germany's TUV Rheinland, the U.S.'s UL (Underwriters Laboratory), and the UK's Intertek, have verified the image quality of LG Ultra HD monitors. This verification included key image quality elements such as ultra-high resolution Ultra HD picture quality, high color accuracy (sRGB 99% or higher), and the wide viewing angle of the IPS panel.

LG Ultra HD monitors are the world's first to feature a USB Type-C port. By connecting the monitor to a laptop via this port, users can charge their laptop without a separate charger while viewing Ultra HD videos or photos. Additionally, the monitor is equipped with a color calibration function, allowing users to experience vivid colors just like a new product even after prolonged use.

LG Electronics plans to strengthen its leadership in the rapidly growing ultra-high-definition monitor market based on its world-class picture quality technology. The industry expects the global Ultra HD monitor market, which was approximately 700,000 units last year, to grow more than threefold to over 2 million units this year.

Jang Ik-hwan, Head of LG Electronics’ Monitor/PC Business Division, emphasized, “Ultra-high definition content is increasing significantly, ranging from movies to games,” adding, “We will lead the Ultra HD monitor market based on image quality technology recognized by global certification bodies.”
