LG Electronics is accelerating the expansion of its mobile ecosystem by unveiling a new 'Friends' device, the 'LG Action Cam LTE'.

LG Electronics has already unveiled eight types of 'Friends,' peripherals that can be used with the G5, and released six of them along with the G5 last March.

The 'LG Action Cam LTE' is an action camera that supports LTE/3G communication functions, enabling real-time video transmission. Not only does the 'LG Action Cam LTE' allow for personal internet broadcasting via live streaming, but it can also be operated remotely, allowing it to be used as a CCTV or dashcam. Users can view and save photos and videos taken with the action cam in real time using a smartphone connected to it.



This product is equipped with a 150-degree wide-angle, 12.3-megapixel lens, allowing you to capture expansive landscapes in a single frame. Additionally, its lightweight design of 95g and IP67 water resistance, capable of withstanding submersion in 1 meter of water for 30 minutes, make it suitable for outdoor shooting. With a sufficient 1,400mAh battery capacity, it can record Full HD video for approximately 4 hours.

The 'LG Action Cam LTE' is compatible with various types of mounts available on the market. Users can attach the 'LG Action Cam LTE' to helmets, bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and more with a mount to stably capture dynamic videos anytime, anywhere. This product is compatible not only with the G5 but also with other smartphones running Android OS and iOS.

LG Electronics plans to sequentially launch the 'LG Action Cam LTE' in major markets, starting with Korea in June, followed by the U.S. and Europe, in consultation with mobile carriers.

LG Electronics is continuing its efforts to expand the mobile ecosystem. During the "LG Friends Modular Idea Contest" held throughout April, innovative ideas were submitted, including a "Braille Module" for the visually impaired, a "Physical Key Module" for users who prefer physical keys, a "Gamepad Module" for gamers, a "Camera Function Enhancement Module," and a "Smart Key Module." LG Electronics has selected eight entries from these submissions and plans to hold a competitive presentation and awards ceremony on the 20th.

LG Electronics CEO and Head of the Mobile Communications Business Division, Cho Jun-ho, emphasized, “The LG Action Cam LTE allows users to share their experiences in real-time even from a distance, which will significantly change users’ video content consumption patterns,” adding, “We will expand the mobile ecosystem and provide new experiences to consumers through the continuous launch of Friends in the future.”
