Netgear Launches 10 Gigabit Smart Managed Switch for Small and Medium Businesses
Published2016.06.10 07:51Netgear (Country Manager Kim Jin-kyum) announced on the 9th that it is officially launching three 10-gigabit smart managed switches in Korea that help network administrators in small and medium-sized enterprises conveniently configure and manage their internal networks via a web browser.
The newly released Netgear ProSafe® XS700 series consists of smart managed switches with 8, 16, and 48 ports supporting 100, 1000, and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, respectively, and is comprised of model names XS708T, XS716T, and XS748T.
These 10-gigabit smart switches are suitable for network environments requiring high bandwidth and high-speed performance, such as virtualization environments like VoIP, video streaming, and IP surveillance systems, as well as cloud-based services and applications. Additionally, they are equipped with two or four dedicated SFP+ slots each, enabling 10G optical connectivity.
The Netgear 10 Gigabit Smart Managed Switch XS700 Series enables connectivity with 10G-enabled servers and network storage, and allows for the configuration of an efficient, high-speed network infrastructure at a low cost through combination with a 10G-enabled fully managed switch and a bottom switch equipped with a 10G uplink port.
This 10G smart managed switch incorporates comprehensive and diverse Layer 2 management functions, as well as Layer 3 light management functions, necessary for virtualization and integrated networks and mobile environments. In other words, it includes various management functions such as advanced VLAN features like VLAN and guest VLAN, as well as advanced QoS (Quality of Service) features, private VLAN, advanced security features like 802.1x authentication and access control lists, and IPv6 support.
It is compatible with existing Category 5 cables as well as Category 6 and 7 cables, and provides dual firmware images and configuration files for convenient firmware upgrades. In addition, it guarantees a reliable after-sales service system through the industry's longest 'lifetime' warranty.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK텔레콤이 3월 21일 서울 광화문 일대에서 열린 대형 K-팝 공연에 AI 기반 네트워크 운영 시스템을 처음 적용해 통신 품질을 관리했다고 밝혔다. 공연 전후 3시간 동안 모바일 데이터 사용량은 12.15TB로 직전 주말 같은 시간대보다 약 2배 늘었다. SK텔레콤은 AI 시스템 ‘A-One’을 활용해 5분 단위, 50m 단위로 트래픽을 감시하며 과부하 가능성에 대응했고, 임시 통신 시설과 현장 인력 운영도 병행했다. 밀집 행사와 외국인 이용 수요가 동시에 늘어나는 환경에서 AI 기반 자율 네트워크 운영의 현장 적용 가능성을 확인한 사례로 해석된다.
