'Tech World 2016', Moto Z series smartphones announced
Demonstration of the world's first bendable phone and technology that folds in half to become a smartphone

Lenovo (www.lenovo.com) announced its future vision for connected devices at its annual innovation technology conference, Lenovo TechWorld 2016, held in San Francisco, USA on June 9.

They also showcased innovative products that will be released in the second half of the year, such as the PHAB 2 Pro, the world’s first smartphone to support Google’s AR technology Tango, and the Moto Z series smartphones that can be equipped with modules called Moto Mods to add new modular functions. In addition, they demonstrated the world’s first bendable smartphone that can be worn on the wrist and future technology that can be used as a tablet when unfolded and a smartphone when folded in half.

The event, attended by over 1,300 fans, industry influencers and analysts, featured insights from Lenovo Chairman and CEO Yuanqing Yang, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich, Juniper Networks Founder, Vice Chairman and CTO Pradeep Sindhu and technology executives from Google. The driving force of future technology is connectivity.

Yang Yuanqing, Lenovo Chairman and CEO, highlighted Lenovo’s future technology, which consists of three pillars: device innovation, device-to-cloud connectivity, and infrastructure. Lenovo has outstanding capabilities and proven experience in enabling device innovation. As the IT environment rapidly changes, new concepts and types of cloud and connectivity have emerged, and devices are becoming more portable and flexible as users demand higher levels of connectivity.

This connectivity is expanding to include people, devices, networks, and new types of services or apps, as well as big data and personal clouds. Connected devices are driving seamless interactions, such as creating a smart home with personalized environments or entertainment options. Lenovo will continue to lead in this area and strive to provide a comprehensive user experience.

Intel CEO Brian Krzanich introduced the amazing experiences made possible by Intel technology in games, sports, and the cloud. He also demonstrated immersive gaming experiences in virtual reality using the Lenovo Y900 equipped with the latest Intel 6th generation i7 Core processor and Oculus VR technology. He emphasized the importance of the cloud as the foundation for providing these amazing experiences. Recently, Lenovo launched a new data center platform equipped with the latest Intel Xeon processor E7 v4 family, and Intel's latest processor provides expanded memory capacity, industry-leading performance, and enhanced hardware security for real-time analytics.

At Tech World, celebrity actor and tech entrepreneur Ashton Kutcher was on hand to unveil two flagship smartphones and Moto Moz, interchangeable modules that can completely transform your mobile experience. These products, which can turn your smartphone into a large-capacity battery, large-screen projector, and sound box, are easily interchangeable as they attach with powerful magnets.

Equipped with Tango technology, a suite of sensors and software developed by Google, the Phab 2 Pro can detect and map its surroundings, providing a cutting-edge augmented reality (AR) experience on a smartphone.

Lenovo also showcased a range of innovative concepts that reflect the creativity, experimentation and ingenuity of engineers, designers and developers around the world. These concepts are the driving force behind shaping future technologies.

Lenovo CPlus and Folio feature flexible screens and components to enable unprecedented dual-device and diverse usage scenarios. Lenovo Smart Shoes are also enhanced with the addition of the Intel® Curie™ module and wireless charging. This allows users to measure their activity, play motion-controlled games, and receive personalized news and information based on activity data transmitted to their smartphones.
