Published2016.06.22 06:26Western Digital today announced the expansion of its consumer SSD portfolio with the launch of the new SanDisk® SSD Plus, offering enhanced performance.
The next-generation SanDisk SSD Plus will be an ideal solution for users looking to improve the performance of their existing laptop computer at a fraction of the cost of purchasing a new system.
The SanDisk SSD Plus can improve overall system performance by improving boot and shutdown times, application responsiveness, and data transfer speeds.
Installing a SanDisk SSD Plus in your old laptop or desktop PC will instantly improve its performance without the need to purchase a new one. The SanDisk SSD Plus delivers read speeds of up to 535 MB/s, delivering up to 20 times faster performance than standard laptop hard drives.
Available in various capacities, including 120GB, 240GB, and 480GB, consumers can enhance their laptop and PC performance with the capacity ideal for media and applications like photos, videos, music, and games. The SanDisk SSD Plus utilizes TLC NAND flash memory and SLC cache to maximize read and write speeds and peak performance.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
