Bluetooth SIG Launches 'Blue University Live' for Bluetooth Developers
Published2016.07.14 21:42Bluetooth SIG announced that it will hold the 2016 Seoul session of 'Blue University LIVE,' a one-day Bluetooth technical training event for developers around the world who are new to Bluetooth, on September 27.
As an educational program lecturing developers on how to develop and connect Bluetooth-enabled products, the practical training sessions provide the tools and resources necessary for developers to implement their IoT ideas. Developers interested in the event can register through the website.
Steve Hegenderfer, Director of Developer Programs at Bluetooth SIG, stated, “Features unique to Bluetooth technology, such as ubiquity, interoperability, and an open architecture, enable developers to create secure and scalable connections.” He added, “Blue University Live, built on Bluetooth Developer Studio, teaches developers how to drastically reduce build times and bring products to market quickly. Together with its members, Bluetooth SIG will build a future where connectivity is seamless.”
Bluetooth is the core of Internet of Things connectivity, and over 5 billion Bluetooth devices are expected to be shipped by 2021. Blue University Live covers the entire development stage of Bluetooth devices, from initial coding to marketing, with lectures delivered by industry experts. The working session covers the use of Bluetooth Developer Studio, writing sample code, executing code, building mobile applications, and Bluetooth SIG product qualification requirements.
Blue University Live is joined by Allion Test Labs, Dialog Semiconductor, Ellisys, Insight SiP, Nordic Semiconductor, and Teledyne LeCroy as Platinum Sponsors. Attendees will be provided with downloadable sample projects, sample code, and developer kits from Nordic Semiconductor and Dialog Semiconductor.
Blue University Live 2016 sessions have already been held in Shenzhen, China, San Jose, California, USA, and Berlin, Germany, over the past May and June, and will be held in Austin, Texas, USA on September 22, Seoul, South Korea on September 27, 2016, Tokyo, Japan on September 29, 2016, and Copenhagen, Denmark on October 4.

ST Announces Wireless SoC Targeting Latest Low-Power Bluetooth Market
