Seeking closer cooperation on important policy issues such as advanced driver assistance systems

ON Semiconductor announced that it has joined the Original Equipment Suppliers Association (www.oesa.org), which works to protect the business interests of over 430 automotive parts supplier members.

All members of this association are automatically affiliated with the Motor and Equipment Manufacturers Association (www.mema.org), which consists of more than 1,000 companies in the OEM and aftermarket sectors of the small car and commercial vehicle industries.

By joining these two associations, ON Semiconductor has become closer to its customers in resolving policy issues related to the automotive industry, such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The Automotive and Equipment Manufacturers Association predicts that ADAS technology alone could prevent 30% of all rear-end collisions, and ON Semiconductor is a leading supplier of components used in this system.

Lance Williams, Vice President of Automotive Strategy and OEM Development at ON Semiconductor, said , “As the second-largest supplier of non-microcontroller automotive semiconductors, we have worked closely with customers to promote relevant policies and technologies, and based on this understanding, we will further innovatively advance essential technologies such as safety and reliability.”

Vice President Williams also added, “Since both major associations are highly regarded technology organizations in the automotive industry, we will expand our cooperation more closely with over 1,000 member companies through this membership.”
