Partnering with Hanyang Corp. to supply consumer-centric smart homes
Provides features such as home appliance control and integrated control of public facilities through voice recognition.

SK Telecom announced on the 9th that it has signed a contract with Hanyang Corp. (www.hycorp.co.kr) to supply smart home services for 1,500 households of the 'Hanyang Sujain' apartment complex in Cheongna International City, which is scheduled for sale in August.

SK Telecom stated that a key feature is the provision of 'customized' smart home services optimized for residents' needs, with smart home experts directly participating from the apartment design stage to consider various factors such as regional characteristics and the living environment.

SK Telecom explained that the smart home service applied to Hanyang Sujain Apartments focuses on the convenience of residents through features such as home appliance control via voice recognition and control of common facilities like elevators.

Residents can easily operate home appliances with a single word, such as ‘turn off the lights,’ ‘turn off the gas,’ or ‘close the window,’ through voice recognition services. In addition, through the integrated control system, you can control everything from major household facilities such as lighting, heating, and gas to elevators and common entrances from outside using just a smartphone.

In addition, considering the frequent weather changes characteristic of Cheongna International City, SK Telecom plans to introduce an intelligence feature via a smart home app that automatically maintains optimal temperature and humidity. This will allow residents to enjoy a comfortable environment as air conditioners or humidifiers operate automatically in response to external temperature fluctuations.

The two companies have confirmed that they will additionally supply smart home services to 3,600 households in three areas, including Uiwang, Uijeongbu, and Wangsimni, which are scheduled for sale within the year.

SK Telecom announced that it is receiving a succession of cooperation inquiries from LH Corporation and large, medium, and small construction companies, as its smart home services are receiving a positive response from end-users for their ability to satisfy both residential convenience and investment value.

Cho Young-hoon, Head of SK Telecom’s Home Business Division, stated, “Construction companies are diversifying their efforts to implement differentiated IoT-based residential services, such as involving smart home experts from the apartment design stage,” adding, “We plan to continue our efforts to accelerate the realization of a future-oriented residential environment based on smart homes through technological development.”
