HiCling's Cling VOC Wristband
Utilizing the ultra-compact, high-precision, and ultra-low-power characteristics of CCS801 and CCS803 sensors

ams (Korea Branch Representative Lee Jong-deok) announced that Cambridge CMOS Sensors Ltd (hereinafter 'CCS'), an affiliate of the ams Group, has adopted CCS's ultra-low power gas sensors for indoor air quality and breath alcohol measurement functions in the new 'Cling VOC' smart fitness wristband by HiCling, a Chinese wearable device manufacturer.

The CCS801 gas sensor integrated into the Cling VOC wristband can detect even very small amounts of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) commonly found indoors. This VOC measurement capability on the Cling VOC wristband displays indoor air levels via the band's display.

In addition, this wristband integrates a CCS803 gas sensor and algorithm that sensitively detects ethanol in exhaled breath, enabling alcohol testing when necessary. The CCS8xx gas sensor product line is small and low in height, making it a perfect fit for Cling VOC's thin and slim design, which is designed to appeal to fashion-conscious consumers.

By using a unique CMOS-based micro hotplate platform, the CCS8xx sensor has realized the ultra-small, ultra-low power, and fast response characteristics that are critical to wearable devices. Furthermore, because software libraries including proprietary algorithms and example applications for the Android operating system are supported, CCS8xx sensors can be easily integrated into a wide range of portable consumer applications.
