SanDisk Expands Mobile Storage Portfolio

Western Digital® Corporation has introduced the new SanDisk Ultra® Dual Drive USB Type-C™ flash drive.
This expansion further expands the SanDisk brand of mobile storage solutions. Featuring a new retractable design, the latest drives offer faster speeds and larger capacities, allowing you to quickly and easily free up space and transfer content between your smartphone and the latest USB-C devices.
“USB Type-C is a revolutionary product with its reversible connector, fantastic speed, and versatility,” said Shim Young-cheol, head of distribution at Western Digital’s SanDisk Korea. “More Type-C devices are entering the market, and with the Type-C mobile drive, SanDisk can now offer consumers a complete line of mobile storage solutions.” “The new SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drive offers more than twice the capacity, giving you the flexibility to quickly and conveniently transfer photos, videos and files, and easily expand the capacity of your device,” he said.
Now available in capacities up to 128GB*, the new SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C features one USB Type-C connector and one standard USB connector (Type-A), making it easy to free up space on your smartphone or tablet or transfer files between your smartphone, tablet, computer, and next-generation devices. The drive also offers high-speed USB 3.1 performance of up to 150MB/s2, so you can transfer photos, videos, and files at lightning speeds.
“By 2020, 44% of phones sold worldwide are expected to include USB-C connectors,” said Ken Hyers, strategic analyst at Wireless Device Strategies. “This represents a growth of approximately 800% over the next four years. With this rapid growth, we anticipate more solutions like the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drive, which allows users to access and move content across multiple devices with a variety of connectors.”
Additionally, the SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C flash drive allows you to easily manage and back up content on your device via the SanDisk® Memory Zone app for Android. Available for free on the Google Play™ Store3, the app automatically launches when the drive is inserted into a compatible device, giving users instant access to their content.
The SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive USB Type-C Flash Drive is part of SanDisk's family of USB Type-C flash memory solutions, ranging from USB drives to portable SSDs. The SanDisk Ultra Dual USB Type-C Flash Drive is backed by a five-year warranty and is available now. It comes in capacities of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, with suggested retail prices of $13.99, $19.99, $20.99, $33.99, and $61.99, respectively.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation.
