Held 'Wind Forum 2016' at El Tower in Yangjae-dong on September 7

Wind River announced that it will hold 'Wind Forum 2016' at the El Tower in Yangjae-dong on September 7 to introduce the latest technologies in NFV (Network Function Virtualization) and IoT.

Held under the theme of 'Software-Defined World,' this event will introduce the latest global technologies and innovations in the industrial and network markets. Michael Krutz, Chief Product Officer at Wind River, will visit Korea to present specific examples of how Wind River’s portfolio, spanning from Edge to Cloud, leads and is being applied in this market.

The proliferation of connected devices is driving significant changes in the embedded industry today. Driven by innovations in the Internet of Things (IoT), there is a growing trend for embedded systems to connect and integrate with IT systems via large-scale networks to provide more information to business leaders. The IoT session will introduce innovative case studies and application strategies for IoT in industrial markets such as power, energy, industrial automation, transportation, and smart cities.


In particular, Victor Abelairas, Senior Director overseeing strategy and operations for Wind River's cloud product family. The Director of Strategy & Operations will visit Korea to hold in-depth discussions on the "Software-Defined Factory Approach for Innovation in Production Sites." In addition, the event will cover strategies for implementing IoT services in terms of device management, as well as the collection and processing of IoT data in a cloud environment.

In addition, Mark Hermeling, Director of Product Management for the Core OS Business Unit, will visit Korea to present the latest embedded OS technologies and application cases from global companies. He will specifically introduce how the latest technological elements required by global market trends and industrial markets—such as safety, security, and virtualization—are being integrated into VxWorks.

Telecommunications carriers are focusing on building high-performance, high-availability network architectures to respond quickly to changing network demands and reduce operating costs in order to cope with the surging volume of traffic. Through this event, Wind River will introduce global network market trends and outlooks, including NFV/SDN, to prepare for the 5G era.

In particular, the hardware and software partner ecosystem for building NFV services and specific cooperation plans will be presented, along with actual examples of domestic and international telecommunications projects. In the NFV session, Gil Hellmann, VP of Solutions Readiness, and Han Qing, VP of APAC Networking Sales, will visit Korea to introduce Wind River's latest technology updates and global case studies.
