In collaboration with Samji Electronics, one repeater performs the role of three RRH base stations
The opening of Huawei's telecommunications protocol CPRI technology partners served as the catalyst.

LG Uplus announced on the 25th that it will commercialize a new repeater in late August that it has jointly developed with Samji Electronics that enables MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) services across three frequency bands.

MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) is an antenna system capable of multiple inputs and outputs, which can increase the number of base station and mobile phone antennas to two or more to transmit data through multiple paths, thereby doubling the data speed compared to existing systems.

Previously, separate RRH (Remote Radio Head) base stations had to be installed for each frequency band, but the newly developed multi-band repeater can support antennas for three frequency bands at once with a single repeater, which is characterized by significantly reducing network construction and operation costs.

Furthermore, compared to existing equipment, it improves network quality by increasing output and significantly reducing size and weight, and allows for easy installation even in confined spaces such as subway sections and building rooftops. Samji Electronics' development of this multi-band repeater was made possible thanks to LG Uplus's efforts toward mutual growth.

In 2013, LG Uplus established a strategic relationship with Huawei and became the first in the world to open Huawei's CPRI (Common Public Radio Interface) technology, a communication protocol between LTE equipment, to its partners.They agreed to do so. At the time, Samji Electronics was selected as a joint development partner with LG Uplus and received the technology transfer, and based on this, succeeded in developing this multi-band repeater.

LG Uplus has completed all field tests for its multi-band repeaters and is ready for commercialization. Based on this commercialization, Samji Electronics plans to actively expand into overseas markets.
