Providing a pleasant smart work environment with consistent performance

Kaminario Korea (Country Manager Kwak Jun-hwan) announced that it supplied the K2 All Flash Array for the smart work infrastructure construction project of the Korea Financial Information Service (www.kpfis.or.kr), an agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The Korea Institute of Public Finance (KIPF) implemented a smart work project with the goal of creating an environment where work can be done anytime, anywhere, and on any device. The main focus of this project is to equip the infrastructure necessary for smart work, including VDI, mobile office, and business productivity applications.

Performance is the key to a work environment that enables employees to use their own desktops regardless of time, place, or device, and to communicate and collaborate with team members. For this reason, the Korea Financial Information Service (KFIS) exercised great care in selecting storage, which is essential for providing seamless smart work services. KFIS reviewed various solutions across multiple aspects, including price, performance, stability, and scalability. Ultimately, they selected the Kaminario K2 All-flash Array.

"An official from the Korea Financial Information Service stated, 'The Kaminario product not only demonstrates high IOPS but also maintains consistent performance.' He added, 'In addition, data reduction technologies such as deduplication and compression can lower the cost per GB, thereby easing the economic burden of adopting all-flash solutions.'"

In this project, Kaminario configured the K2 All Flash Array for the Korea Financial Information Service using a scale-out method. Kaminario provided cost-effectiveness to customers by expanding the configuration to three K-Blocks, and also achieved performance of 900,000 IOPS and a response time of less than 0.7ms.

"All all-flash storage systems demonstrate high performance when handling a single workload," said Kwak Jun-hwan, General Manager of Kaminario Korea. "However, it is difficult to find a product that consistently maintains high performance in an environment with a mix of workloads. The Kaminario K2 All-Flash Array delivers consistent performance even in smart work environments with mixed workloads, such as VDI, Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, and Database Server."

Meanwhile, the Korea Institute of Public Finance plans to start small and expand its smart work environment as needed in the future. Considering this customer's growth strategy, Kaminario presented an expansion strategy tailored to the institute's smart work environment by leveraging the advantages of K2 All Flash Storage, which supports both scale-up and scale-out simultaneously.

For this Korea Financial Information Service smart work project, Bestech Systems (CEO Seo Woo-seung, www.bestts.co.kr), a distributor of Kaminario Korea, supplied and installed the K2 All Flash Array and is also in charge of technical support.
