Product Line Offers Affordable Nonvolatile SRAM Memory (NVSRAM)
with No Need for External Batteries for Data Retention

Microchip Technology (Korea Representative: Han Byung-don) announced the launch of a new, cost-effective memory solution that offers unlimited endurance and safely stores data during power loss, thereby reducing risk.

This new I2C EERAM memory is an easy-to-use nonvolatile SRAM memory suitable for metering, automotive, and industrial applications that require continuous or instantaneous data recording and need updating or monitoring.

EERAM is a standalone SRAM memory that combines shadow EEPROM backup on a single chip, enabling automatic retention of SRAM memory contents when system power is interrupted.

EERAM allows immediate random writes to the array without any write cycle delay. This I2C EERAM product family includes devices at 4Kb and 16Kb densities and is offered in standard 8-pin SOIC, TSSOP, and PDIP packages. The products are available in 3.0V and 5.0V options, offered in industrial and automotive temperature ranges (-40℃~85℃ and -40℃~125℃), and are available in automotive grade.

EERAM is composed of familiar and reliable single-chip memory technologies (EEPROM and SRAM), providing a robust and dependable data solution and a low-cost nonvolatile SRAM solution. EERAM requires no external battery for secure data storage during power loss. When system power is interrupted, a small external capacitor instead supplies the necessary energy to store the SRAM contents to EEPROM.
