LG Uplus to Build Premium Apartments Incorporating Cutting-Edge IoT Technology
Provision of an integrated wired/wireless home IoT system and an IoT application exclusively for residents

LG Uplus announced that it has established a wired and wireless integrated home IoT system and a home IoT application demonstration zone at the Daewoo E&C Yeonhee Park Prugio apartment model house.

Last June, LG Uplus combined the capabilities of both companies for the construction of home IoT apartments through a business agreement with Daewoo E&C. Accordingly, LG Uplus developed an 'IoT Wallpad' equipped with an IoT hub for the wallpads of Daewoo E&C's Prugio apartments, and built a system that allows existing home network services and home IoT services to be used as a single application.

At the Yeonhee Park Prugio model house in Yeonhee-dong, which opened on the 25th, visitors can try out the application for residents firsthand. In the LG U+ IoT@home demonstration zone located on the left side past the entrance hallway, visitors can control and check the status of household appliances such as air conditioners, fans, air purifiers, and robot vacuum cleaners using a tablet PC equipped with the Prugio Home IoT application.

Along with Yeonhee Park Prugio, Poil Central Prugio (1,700 households) and Siheung Central Prugio (2,000 households) will also introduce LG Uplus's Home IoT service.

Residents of Prugio apartments can control not only the existing home network systems installed upon move-in, such as lighting, heating, and gas, but also individually purchased IoT home appliances from LG Electronics and Samsung Electronics through a single app called Prugio IoT@home via smartphone. The Prugio IoT@home app enables a mode recommendation function through big data analysis of connected products. As resident usage information accumulates, it analyzes the user's behavioral patterns and recommends modes for commuting, weekends, and travel.

Visitors can indirectly experience the home IoT environment at Prugio through a 3D video. When a visitor launches the Prugio IoT@home app on the large touchscreen, a video demonstrating the services plays. For example, if a gas lock is controlled via Prugio IoT@home, the gas lock in the apartment kitchen changes from 'open' to 'locked' on the 3D screen, and a boiling pot comes to a standstill. There are about 10 types of home IoT services available for demonstration through the screen.

Users can also experience a device-to-device connection service via the touchscreen, configured with automatic execution environments based on the user's lifestyle patterns using LG Uplus Home IoT's IFTTT (Conditional Control) function. The provided scenarios include ▲Away Mode ▲Home Mode ▲Cleaning Mode ▲Security Mode; when 'Cleaning Mode' is activated, the air purifier, robot vacuum cleaner, and curtains operate simultaneously.

A location-based home IoT solution that switches modes based on the resident's current location is installed in Prugio Apartments. In 'Homecoming Mode,' when a resident's vehicle approaches the apartment, the system automatically adjusts the indoor environment, such as turning on the heating in advance, accompanied by a notification stating, "Switching to Indoor Mode."

By creating optimized control scenarios through integrated connectivity between all IoT devices, including built-in wired and wireless devices and affiliated home appliances, residents of Prugio apartments are now able to lead a more prosperous life.

Meanwhile, LG Uplus is taking the lead in pioneering premium residential environments in Korea by applying Home IoT services to Lotte Castle Star in Hanam Misa and The Cllium Officetel by Taerim General Construction in Gimpo Hangang New City.
