Vicor Announces DC-DC Converter Mounted in VIA Package
Published2016.12.15 17:18Vicor (CEO Jung Ki-cheon) has launched the DCM, a new DC-DC converter mounted in a VIA package.
The DCM, supplied in a VIA package, is a modular DC-DC converter that delivers isolated, rectified output with high efficiency and significantly higher power density compared to existing products by utilizing various unregulated input voltages.
The newly launched DCM integrates EMI filtering, overcurrent protection, and inrush current limiting functionality, as well as trimming, drive, and remote sense through secondary-side control, providing power systems engineers with an integrated power system solution offering enhanced functionality compared to conventional brick-type products. Additionally, both on-board and chassis mounting configurations are possible.
Vicor has added three new 48V rated input modules (36-75V range) in the 3414 VIA package (3.38 x 1.40 x 0.37 inches) to this product family, which is applied to various applications in industrial and telecommunications sectors. These converters provide output voltages of 12V, 24V, and 48V with maximum output power of 320W and power density of up to 183W/in3.

Vicor (Executive Vice President Jeong Gi-cheon) has launched the DCM, a new DC-DC converter implemented in a ChiP package. Provided in a ChiP package, the DCM is an isolated voltage regulator that generates isolated DC output voltage utilizing various unregulated input voltages.
