SK Telecom has partnered with global action cam manufacturer Xiaoyi for customers who enjoy winter outdoor sports.
SK Telecom announced that it is expanding its 'T View Live' service, which allows users to view and edit recorded videos in real time by linking their smartphone with an action cam, to include the Xiaoyi action cam.
An action cam is a miniature camcorder that can be mounted on a bicycle, helmet, etc., to easily film the surroundings without separate operation. When it was first released, it was primarily used by extreme sports enthusiasts such as surfing and bungee jumping, but recently, demand has been steadily increasing as the use of action cams in travel and daily life has grown.
In particular, Xiaoyi’s action cam is a product that is well-received in the global market as it is sold at an affordable price of around 100,000 won, despite being equipped with a high-performance 16-megapixel camera.
As customer interest in the action cam market grew, SK Telecom introduced 'T View Live' last July, an application that allows users to connect a smartphone with an action cam to utilize real-time shooting and editing functions.
'T-View Live' is an application that allows you to control an action cam with a smartphone using 'WiFi Direct' technology, which enables direct data transmission between devices.
Customers can link 'T-View Live' with Xiaoyi's action cam to view videos recorded by the action cam in real time and save them to a dedicated cloud service (20GB provided free).
'T-View Live' offers various features for easy video editing and sharing, including Time Warp, which adjusts video speed from 2x to 32x, creation of animated images (also known as 'animated GIFs'), automatic story album, automatic tag album, time-lapse, and social media sharing.
Starting with Xiaoyi's action cam, SK Telecom plans to actively pursue partnerships with various camera-based companies.

SK텔레콤, 50만원대 수퍼 프리미엄 ‘루나S’ 출시
SK텔레콤이 50만원대 프리미엄 스마트폰 ‘루나S’를 전국 공식인증대리점과 온라인몰 ‘T월드다이렉트’에서 7일부터 단독 예약 판매하고, 12일 공식 출시한다고 밝혔다. SK텔레콤이 제품 기획과 유통, 한국 제조사 TG앤컴퍼니가 개발, 대만 폭스콘이 위탁 생산을 각각 담당했다. ‘루나S’의 출고가는 568,700원이다. 공시지원금은 최고 요금제 ‘T 시그니처 Master(월 통신요금 110,000원, 부가세포함)’ 기준 330,000원으로 238,700원에 구매가 가능하다. 2년 약정 시 월 단말 할부원금이 약 1만원인 셈이다.

SK Telecom is launching the 'Luna S' Taekwon V Special Edition. Starting from the 18th, the company will sell a limited edition of 1,000 units on a first-come, first-served basis through its official online mall 'T World Direct (shop.tworld.co.kr)' and 13 authorized SK Telecom retailers. This product was created through a collaboration between Taekwon V, a homegrown Korean character celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and TG&Company, a Korean manufacturer.
