StiC, a stethoscope that connects to a smartphone, scheduled for release

KT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Australian mobile healthcare startup Medison for "global digital healthcare business cooperation."

The two companies plan to pursue collaboration in the 'global digital healthcare' sector by integrating Medison's mobile stethoscope with KT's digital healthcare solutions.

Madison is a startup founded in 2015 by CEO Hussein, a former doctor. Madison is preparing to launch 'Stethee,' a stethoscope that weighs 110g, fits in the palm of your hand, and connects wirelessly to a smartphone.

StiC provides the ability to measure cardiac and cardiopulmonary indicators, such as heart sounds, vascular murmurs, and oxygen saturation, which were difficult to diagnose with conventional stethoscopes. This enables the diagnosis of heart and respiratory diseases.

With StiC, you can diagnose anytime and anywhere and connect to a smart device to share measurement data, and the location where the diagnosis was performed for each patient is automatically saved via the GPS function. In addition, it is equipped with features that provide information on key indicators such as body temperature, humidity, and altitude. Sticci already obtained European CE medical device certification in January 2015 and is scheduled to obtain US FDA certification in March of this year.

KT plans to provide services enabling on-site diagnosis at medical institutions in developing countries and continuously strengthen its global telemedicine business by connecting local health centers, university hospitals, and domestic university hospitals.
