Samsung Electronics to Present VR-Related Projects at MWC 2017
Published2017.02.21 12:01Samsung Electronics will present VR-related C-Lab (Creative Lab) projects from February 27 to March 1 at MWC 2017 held in Barcelona, Spain.
Samsung Electronics will be meeting MWC visitors at its C-Lab exhibition hall at the Fira Barcelona 4YFN in Barcelona.
The C-Lab projects presented at MWC 2017 include Relumino, Monitorless, BuildUs, and Traveler.
▲Relumino
Relumino is a visual assistance solution that utilizes the Gear VR. Using Gear VR, Relumino provides visually impaired people with easily recognizable video content.
▲Monitorless
Monitorless is a VR/AR solution that allows remote access to 3D graphics tools or PC content anytime, anywhere via a virtual screen, without a physical monitor. It utilizes a sunglasses-type device as a display, while smartphones and PCs act as servers. Additionally, it adopts electrochromic glass, allowing selection of VR and AR modes depending on the usage environment.
▲Build Earth
BuildUs is a VR home interior service that allows users to virtually experience interior design. By capturing the user's home's interior with a 360-degree depth camera, a VR home map is created that is identical to the actual home. The home map stores spatial information, allowing users to place furniture and interior items in VR at realistic proportions.
▲Traveler
Traveler connects videos, including 360-degree footage, based on location, providing users with a truly authentic travel experience. Users can select a route and time to watch from their desired location.
Samsung Electronics Creative Development Center Managing Director Lee Jae-il said, "The C-Lab project being presented this time is in the prototype stage, but we plan to continue to try various things and verify the expandability of VR and AR technology through feedback from external users."
