Ethernet electrical verification support available for oscilloscopes

Tektronix announced today a new equivalent-time automated conformance test solution for 4-lane 100G interfaces defined in IEEE 802.3bm and 802.3bj standards.

Tektronix stated that this TekExpress application, available for Tektronix high-performance oscilloscopes including the DSA8300 >70GHz bandwidth sequential equivalent time sampling oscilloscope and the DPO70000SX real-time oscilloscope series with up to 70GHz bandwidth, supports 100G Ethernet (IEEE 802.3bj and IEEE 802.3bm Annex 83) electrical verification and characterization requirements.



As the IEEE 802.3 standard is continuously expanding, test engineers face many difficulties in understanding and applying these extensive measurement standards.

Tektronix works closely with standards organizations to provide concise and clear result reports that meet industry standard test requirements, while offering simple turnkey solutions. The company explained that reducing test and verification complexity is key to launching interchangeable 100G optical and electrical modules.
